PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE OR PRIVATE MEDICINE?

This is a controversial subject in my country, because a lot of people have to wait to have an operation, which isn’t urgent. The trouble is the large number of old people who need to go in the operating theatre because of their problems with their eyes, their knees, their hips…The hospitals don’t have room for so many men and women and they are on a waiting list. Currently, a person who must be operated on the hip, he or she will have to wait for two or three years. In contrast, if the same person also pays a private medicine or private medical insurance, the operation is done immediately.

In the same way, in winter, when people get an illness like flu or other viruses, they go to the nearest hospital, which is crowded. They have to wait in corridors for a long time.   In addition, if you are in public hospital and you love your privacy, you ought to know that the rooms are shared. On the other hand, the best machines and the best technology are in the hospitals of the public health service. The private medicine, even when they have a patient who needs special cure, they move him to the public hospital.  Concluding, I believe that the public health service must improve. What’s more, it must prepare for the immigration that it will certainly grow.   The government has to use the money of our taxes to invest in health, education…to have a more comfortable future.

1 - Hi Orlando. Interesting post.
I have no doubt in the answer to your question. PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE FOREVER. I just will make a question to readers to justify my decission. What kind of surgery or medicine can you have at a Private Hospital if you have no money? If you have no money there are no waiting list for you!!!.
